It is really hard for me to remember that my "works" have nothing to do with the gifts that God chooses to or not to give me. If I'm the "perfect" wife (clean house, great cook, available lover), that doesn't mean I get a made to order husband. Taking this route actually misses the route of God's grace for me and the man I've married. We are happy not because we are getting what we deserve but because we are not getting what we as imperfect people deserve from a holy God.
