Be Perfect As Your Heavenly Father Is

Matthew 5:48 says to be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect. There are so many verses like this that we questions, "Obviously, it doesn't mean what it looks like it's saying."

My question is, are we really getting what He's saying and maybe He's given us that ability.
