Window to the Soul, From the Soul:
The clarity of my Light filter is affected by the things I treasure

This card tries to make sense of Jesus' words in Matt 6:22-23. I was having trouble understanding what it means that my eye is a lamp. But once I switched terms from "lamp" to "window" it made sense. From the outside of a house, the people standing in the darkness can easily see when there's a light on inside.

It floods the immediate area underneath and around the window.

From inside a house, the sunlight streams through an uncovered window and illuminates the entire room. (And I like natural sunlight so much better than halogen and flourescent lighting too.)
So if I think of my eyes as a window to my soul... then the things that I value, admire and treasure have a definite effect on whether my spiritual windows are grimy and dingy- allowing scant and weak light through. It affects the light of the Lord that tries to shine INTO my life, and it affects the spiritual light (refer back to being the salt and the light) shining OUT of my life.
