The Lord's Prayer
-Chris

My Lord's Prayer card started with the King - in this case the True King. His words are over Him, part of Him. Again, I was thinking about contrast between the world and the kingdom. The burnt edges
are, in my mind, symbolic of the destruction the world does to His words. Now, this is not only "out there" but also within the Christian community - and, I realized, within myself. We want to get
rid of fasting and instead continually indulge ourselves in that which delights our sensual flesh - here represented by "fast food."
We want to get rid of prayer (a prayer life) and "play" instead. (How many times have we - have I - opted for a mindless movie over much-
needed time spent in prayer?) When we do pray, we want to make it about us - "Give me everything I want," "What tresspasses?," "My
kingdom come"...
