Interwoven

Sharing with my husband about the study I said "It just seems like the Beatitudes are so interwoven." I don't see any of them standing alone...like the fruit of the Spirit. It does not seem to me that one can be self-controlled and joyfully unkind, or unlovingly and impatiently peaceful. As with the Beattitudes.
Searching for my incomplete card pack that I had set aside I spied a lone 8 of diamonds on the floor, picked it up and walked toward the kitchen. A different card idea was working itself out in my mind

and I kept saying "They seem so interwoven." and then right there in front of the dishwasher I had the *Ah-ha!* moment. "I'll cut the cart into strips and weave them together. So I cut 9 strips, one for each part of the beatitudes, and wove them together. Not fancy, but symbolic to me.
The funny thing is I looked at it on my windowsill and thought "Oh, the red marks almost make a cross...I bet if I move this strip and rearrange it I can make a cross." So I tried and tried, but every change moved little bits of white behind red and little bits of red behind white, and I realized I was just trying to hard to make a pattern. So I wove it back together. That was symbolic to me as well.
