Two Hands

My two hands picture emerged from my impression that God's value system is so much about reaching out to others and living generously. My value system, on the other hand, so often revolves around grabbing what I can get for ME, holding on to "things," keeping to myself.

The generous life seems so colorful and alive, the selfish life replete of all that. I cut off most of the hands of the royal family to fill in God's hand. There seemed to be trinitarian echoes in that as I pasted them onto the picture. As I cut away at my deck of cards, I also couldn't help thinking of the verses about chopping my own hands off if they cause me to sin.
