Julia's lament. She said, "I miss my house,"
but "God provided my family."

We miss...

We analyzed the structure of Psalm 12, a Davidic lament psalm.

As a family, we wrote our own lament psalm based on how much we miss our home church. It goes as follows:

Oh Lord, we miss LakePointe Church
And all our Sunday School classes
We're left to watching services on DVD
in our pajamas
But it isn't the same, pas de tout
Oh Lord, build Your church in France
So we're not so lonely
You have brought us new friends like:
Todd and Kari
Justus and Samantha
Xena and Laura and Merlin
Dahrina and Angelique
Melanie and Alexandra and Amber and Kenzie
Max and Valerie
Barney and Tiphanie
Daniel and Danielle
Oliver and Landry
And many more
We believe that You will build Your church
and You will use us to do that here.

Sophie's lament: She misses her friends, Texas, family, church, her former big house and big van. The word life is obscured underneath vellum. She said, "In Texas life seemed blurred, but here in France, life is clearer."

Aidan's lament. He misses our church (on the left), his school Kimberlin Academy (on the right), his friends (three green boys), but he sees the adventure of traveling and exploring.
